Superintendent Search Update
5.15.24 – Engage. Empower. Energize

The search for the next superintendent is progressing well. The board’s search committee has moved beyond its initial review of all the candidates who expressed an interest in the position and has conducted first-round interviews with a selected group. Candidates chosen to move to the next round of interviews will undergo a more rigorous analysis of their skills and experiences via the activities and questions embedded into that phase of the process.

Moving forward, we will also be taking a closer look at the results of the focus group discussions and the surveys that were conducted earlier in the process. We take those comments and opinions seriously, as we want to be sure the leadership experiences and strategic competencies of the next superintendent align well with the challenges and aspirations of the district, as seen, in part, through the lens of our stakeholders. Not only is this one of the most objective methods for determining the best ‘fit’ for Norwin, but it is also continuing to open the lines of communication and collaboration. Ultimately, through engaging and empowering others, we all become energized to 'own' our part in Norwin's journey ahead.

Superintendent Search Update
SEARCH UPDATE | 4.5.24

The application period for the Norwin School District Superintendent Search has closed, and the next step will be to discuss interview protocols and procedures and analyze the educational and employment credentials of each candidate who applied.

With guidance from Templeton Advantage, the Norwin Board of School Directors will be developing interview questions that will include topics that surfaced from the focus group discussions as well as other leadership topics that are crucial to successfully leading today’s school districts. As the process moves forward, it is important to note that we will be doing much more than simply finding the district’s next superintendent. After appointing the next leader of Norwin, the board will continue working with our consultant on a series of initiatives that will be critical to sustaining high-impact leadership from the office of the superintendent. These efforts will require intentional, ongoing planning efforts, which will be outlined in future reports to the community. For now, JOB #1 is to find the best possible leader for Norwin.
