Concession Stand Food Safety Training Class

6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

In accordance with Norwin School District School Board Policy #808.1 and Westmoreland County Health Department regulations, organizations renting or using Norwin School District kitchen facilities or concession stands, who plan on serving food and/or beverages, must have at least one person certified in food safety present the entire time food and/or beverages are being served.

Certifications can be obtained either through the Concession Stand Food Safety Training class, taught at Norwin every year in August, or by the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe National Exam. 

Scanned copies of certificates will be requested upon scheduling of facilities if food and/or beverages will be served.

After the event, a visual inspection of food preparation and serving areas will be performed by a certified District Food Service employee.  Organizations will be charged for any necessary cleaning and/or sanitizing of surfaces completed by a District Food Service employee, at the current “special function” rate.
